They range from three to six parts and include popular dances and songs of the period as well as canzonas, intradas and sonatas. The music has been carefully laid out for easy reading and there are full notes and attributions to support the selection. Crumhorn Anthology, Book 3
The collection includes a range of pieces including two pieces specifically written for crumhorn by Johann Schein as well as a seven verse setting of a psalm by Thomas Stoltzer. There are also a range of pieces marked in part books and scores as being suitable for crumhorns together with pieces from the 1539 comedy Il Commodo which included crumhorns in mixed consorts. Composers include Alamire, Senfl, Praetorius and Stoltzer, ranging from 3 to 9 parts.
